A Language Between Sound & Earth

Emma Lee Fleury is a Canadian multidisciplinary artist and musician based in Muskoka, Ontario, whose work moves fluidly between sound and visual form. Her music exists as an extension of her broader artistic practice – rooted in nature, emotion, and the unseen forces that shape both internal and external landscapes.

Working as a solo artist, Fleury creates atmospheric, emotive compositions that blend elements of alternative, folk, and experimental sound. Her music unfolds through layered vocals, instrumentation, and texture, forming immersive soundscapes that mirror the same themes found in her visual work – environment, mental health, and the evolving relationship between humans and the natural world.

Her songwriting often reads as a poetic diary – exploring relationships, human nature, and the quiet complexities of emotional experience. It moves between introspection and expansion, holding both vulnerability and presence within the same space.

Alongside her solo work, Fleury has been involved in multiple collaborative projects, including Moonfox, Fat Moth, and Oak and Elm, where her sound continues to evolve through shared creative environments and experimental approaches to songwriting and performance.

Across these projects, her work has moved through venues, festivals, and collaborations throughout Ontario and Western Canada, developing a sound that is both grounded and expansive.

It exists in the same space as her visual work – somewhere between the physical and the imagined.

A translation of feeling, environment, and energy into sound.
